Abraham Galicia Guerrero.

He was born in CDMX in 1976, where he currently resides. He studied a degree in visual arts at the National School of Plastic Arts, UNAM. At the end of his professional studies he decided to suspend his creative activity, faced with the notion of lacking sufficient cultural background to sustain the development of a work balanced between discourse and image. Practicing the profession of art restoration and conservation technician for more than 20 years, he had with different disciplines and artistic techniques from the extensive national heritage. Starting in 2013, he established his easel painting workshop to resume his pictorial production and propose the principles on which his work will be based, being determined by the use of traditional oil painting techniques, social themes and a marked respect for the viewer. Based on these precepts, he works on a series that seeks to portray the complexity of the cultural environment in which we operate, its contradictions and contributions to the civilizational process that we call Mexicanness. Through the figurative resource it seeks to reflect the conception of its own identity (established by language, religion, customs and territory) that does not understand itself except through the gaze of the other "the from outside" and its influence, through the use of symbols that describe our reality trapped between tradition and progress, rituality and pragmatism and faith and science, therefore the awareness and acceptance that we live a reality is proposed. mestizo, with very deep roots and a very broad horizon.
