Eu chamo-me Adilson Fernandes, tenho 35 anos. Nasci em Cabo Verde (Ilha de Santiago) porém cresci em Portugal, fato que me confere dupla nacionalidade e que bem pode traduzir a minha identidade, em linguagem simbolica, nas palavras que se seguem: Cabo Verde representa as minhas raízes, tudo o que em mim tende à cristalização; Portugal, as minhas asas, tudo o que em mim tem à dispersão. Contudo, eu não sou nem as minhas asas nem as minhas raízes, mas o intervalo precário que as liga, o movimento perpétuo que os mantém interligados.
Sou licenciado em Línguas, Literaturas e Culturas e pós-graduado em Estudos Comparatistas pela FLUL (Faculdade de Letras Universidade de Lisboa.
Sou, além de artista plástico, poeta, pois considero as imagens como um degrau para subir mais alto, descer mais fundo, ir ainda mais longe, isto é, onde as palavras confessam os seus limites.
A arte é para mim uma necessidade vital, como respirar, comer, beber ou amar, pois acredito, como Dostoiévski, que "a beleza salvará o mundo".

Elas ferem quem as tocas, porém iluminam aqueles que se deixam acariciar pelas suas chamas.
São as minhas obras plásticas pinturas texturizadas, no sentido que se situam a meio caminho entre pintura e colagem: a pintura permite-me derramar no papel o minha paixão descriminada pelas cores; a colagem permite-me incorporar fragmentos criteriosamente selecionados de modo a pautar a textura e atribuir um maior relevo e, porventura, melhor balanço poético à composição final.
