Series Shadow 03 is made with mixed media and collage on old recovered sheet (irregular edges and corners; round corners).
This work is part of a series of works inspired by Jung's psychoanalytic theories on the Shadow.
I am fascinated by themes related to the psyche and soul, with particular attention to the imperfections and contrasts that characterize our being.

The old sheet used to create this work, with its tears and patches, wants to underline the fragility and imperfection of the human condition. The sheet is a symbol of rest and warmth; the background, with its shades and stains, created by the dense collage and the intensity of the painting, recall the amniotic fluid in which the large figure at the top rests. The egg, at the bottom, is made with my fingerprints, to symbolize the uniqueness of the individual, made of lights and shadows.

The sheet has an irregular shape and several tears and lacerations on the edge. There are also some patches.
