Clotilde Maillard was born in in 1960. Trained at the Académie Julian, where she perfected the artistic techniques of the time, with a predilection for drawing, under the direction of Roland Guillaumel, Grand Prix de Rome in sculpture, she then went to live two years in England, followed by more than a year in the United States, driven by the desire to discover new artistic perspectives and improve her English. Mother of three children, she was able to transmit to each of them her ion for art: one through social sciences and psychology, another towards architecture, and the youngest towards digital imaging. Today, she lives and works in Occitanie, in the south of .

Deeply convinced by the richness and infinite possibilities of pictorial representation, Clotilde Maillard explores a wide variety of s (canvas, wood, plexiglass, cardboard, paper, fabric, tapestry) and techniques (oil, tempera, acrylic, glycerol, ink, pastel, charcoal). She is interested in all artistic genres — portrait, landscape, live model, figurative abstraction, and many others. What guides her art, above all, is the reflection provoked by her environment. These reflections inspire mental images, some of which impose themselves as obvious, dictating her choices of dimensions, colors and context. ionate, she collects photographs, family films and samples of fabrics and colors to nourish and guide her creative process.

Clotilde Maillard is a member of the Dessiner le Vivant collective, a collective of artists committed to the representation of life in movement. Each member expresses this theme through their own techniques, whether it be painting, drawing, engraving or printing on fabric, and others. Together, they have explored various themes such as tango, contemporary dance or horses. For their tango project, they observed performances given by a professional dancing couple, first in person, then via Zoom during the pandemic. This collaboration culminated in a public performance where the artists drew and filmed the couple dancing live, thus inspiring a series of works dedicated to tango.
