Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. Cyrille Borgnet propose une utilisation du béton tout à fait particulière.
Son travail s'élabore autour du traitement de matériaux que l'on peut qualifier d'industriels, d'urbains (le béton, le bitume). Il les utilise sur un traditionnel (la toile de lin sur châssis) et dans des compositions dites "naturelles" (paysages).
De ces oppositions apparentes il joue pour mêler matière et transparence, rugosité et sophistication. Dans ses formats très amples, le béton (ou ciment) n'est ni brossé, ni lissé, mais mélangé aux pigments naturels colorés, à la rouille, au graphite.
Et dans ces dernières créations, les paysages urbains, faits d'énergie et de matière épaisse il laisse exploser la lumière d'un soleil de rouille et dévoile une végétation nourrie d'acide chlorhydrique.
Toutes ses œuvres, portées par le béton, sa force, son relief, sa résistance suggèrent la faille, l'accident, la fêlure qui viennent ouvrir le regard et porter l'imaginaire.
