About the author t1i28
Andrée JACLET was born in Mulhouse in 1906. Wife of the engraver André JACQUEMIN: André Jacquemin was 29 years old when he met the woman who would become his wife. Like him, Andrée Poncelet was an artist, a student at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs and the sister of the painter Maurice-Georges Poncelet. They married in 1934 and had three children. Mother and wife, Andrée never stopped painting, driven all her life by a great creative force. By combining her name with that of her husband, she became Andrée JACLET and signed, with this pseudonym, a work marked by a powerful sense of color, expressed in flamboyant bouquets and luminous landscapes. Around 1969, Andrée Jaclet "broke her shell" and switched to abstraction. Sometimes supple and round, sometimes abrupt and sharp, his highly structured compositions all possess the same chromatic force. André Jaclet, friend of the greatest painters of the 20th century such as PABLO PICASSO, DUNOYER DE SEGONZAC, RAOUL DUFY, YVES BRAYER and many others, this artist has achieved an internationally renowned list of awards.
