It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.
Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. Originally from Bradford, West Yorkshire, I came to Mid-Wales in 1983 to study English at Aberystwyth University. Upon graduating, I spent time travelling in the UK and Europe, returning to Aberystwyth in 1988. I moved to Powys in 1998 and am now well-settled in Montgomeryshire.
I am interested in shape and colour and how they can express ideas and emotions. I have had no formal art training, but instead experiment with ideas and materials and take an instinctive approach. I am an abstract artist and enjoy working in a variety of media. I am developing my work in mixed media, using reclaimed and recycled materials. Much of my work explores disability issues. In the current political climate, disabled people are increasingly demonised, and I feel that it is important that disability artists are a voice for disabled people in these troubled times. I also often explore social and environmental issues. I use the artist name Ceridwen Powell to reflect my adopted Welshness, and am inspired by the colours and shapes of the beautiful Montgomeryshire landscape, and Celtic myths and legends.
