My works are about exploring and trying to understand a strange world.
Today, there are many people who feel strange in their own world, who re-examine the world in different ways or who are simply lost in that world. My works give shape to that.
This work takes us to a world where we cannot be sure. The horizon is hazy and undefined. We can hardly estimate distances. The drilling platform must have been erected there by people, but the whale seems more familiar to us. The drilling platform is therefore a strange construction that we do not often encounter. Is the whale the explorer of this strange world? Does it fly or has the platform sunk to the bottom of the sea?

Joeri Bruers was born in 1991, during a snowstorm. Appropriately, the child was born with white hair. He would grow out of that later.
He spent his early years in a rural village, Attenrode-Wever and in the city of Tienen, where he went to school.
Although he graduated from secondary school in Latin-modern languages, Joeri Bruers then opted for an art education at the Sint-Lukas college in Brussels. After all, he had been known his whole life as a natural talent for drawing. In order to get to school on time every day, he went to live in Leuven. There he found the woman of his life, with whom he is still together.
After that school career, Joeri Bruers also continued to live in Leuven. Caroline and Joeri bought a house in Herent. To put food on the table and pay the bills, he works in 3D printing for the medical sector.
