Joyce Fournier 4q5u6k
Joyce Fournier is a Canadian multidisciplinary painter and sculptor living and working in Toronto. Art is her true ion and she has had an extensive practice for more than 25 years.
Joyce's current focus is Abstract Expressionist painting using a palette of white, black, and gold to create gestural pieces in a variety of collections inspired by the works of Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, and Pierre Soulages. Over the last fifteen years, Joyce has exhibited in solo and group shows within Canada and internationally. Featured on several occasions in American Art Collector magazine since 2009, her work is found in private and public collections in Canada, the USA, and Europe.

Eclectic Vision • 13 artworks 5q2c3w
View allMost of the paintings are gestural, otherwise known as 'action works'. There is a strong use of color, often red and sometimes pink, along with shades of grey and black, and almost always gold pulling the viewer into the work. Each painting begins with a textured application of Acrylic Gesso to create a design after which acrylic paint is applied allowing the underpainting to show through and add interest. Splatters, drips, and markings are a big part of the process.
