My work presents an artistic exploration of memory, the subconscious and the fragility of our recollections. A mirrored surface poured with transparent resin becomes a portal where the present and the past are reflected and distorted. Spheres of different sizes, like bubbles of time, are frozen, holding in themselves separate fragments, coloured marmalade bears - symbols of childhood, naivety and pure emotions that remain with us on a deep level. These ‘capsules’ of memory are a play of perception, a dialogue between the conscious and unconscious.

Our memories are multi-layered, mobile, but at the same time they are like bubbles frozen in time and our unconscious. They become the very ‘prism’ through which we perceive the world throughout the rest of our lives, and this predetermines the formation of our inner landscape and personality.

In my work, the ‘zero point’ is the very moment of memory formation, the transition from a child's pure perception to comprehending the world through the prism of acquired experience. It reveals the dialectic of realisation: who we are and how we are shaped by our accumulated experience.

Julia is a self-taught abstract artist and photographer celebrated for her innovative and emotionally resonant works. She combines texture pastes, acrylics, and hand-cut mirrors with the vibrant depth of epoxy resin to craft mesmerizing pieces that explore the intersection of the tangible and the reflective. Her practice also extends to creating vivid and dynamic abstract artworks using acrylic paints and digital mediums.

Julia's creative journey took a significant turn in 2019 when she moved to the Kaliningrad region. The stunning natural landscapes and proximity to the Baltic Sea deepened her connection to photography and art. Through her current work, Julia invites viewers to embark on a reflective journey, reconnect with their inner selves, and embrace the profound beauty and emotional complexity of life.
