Maï translates through multiple painting techniques, through acrylics, pastels and
watercolors whose warm and sustained colors, applied with a rag, works that
transport us into a vibrant universe.
She tries, in her paintings, to bring out the inner life of these characters. She
is charged with an ancestral heritage that is dear to her: French, born of a French father of
Maltese origin and a Tunisian mother, she took her first steps in Algeria, in a world where
women are very present in family life.
She defines herself as coming from a social and cultural mix rich in human values that
we find in her paintings. Women adorned with flowers, wearing multicoloured veils,
musicians, women at work and at rest are the vibrant subject of his painting.
