Logical question: Can science explain the number or depth of meaning in miracles?

Description:
A dry bush burns alone in a rocky landscape, but it does not turn to ash. The flames are real. The fire lives, but nothing is consumed. There is no figure nearby, yet the space feels watched, inhabited. Something waits inside the silence.

Science can describe combustion, energy transfer, material resistance. It can model the behavior of fire. But it cannot explain a flame that burns without destroying. It cannot measure a voice that speaks from fire. It cannot tell what happens in a human heart when something sacred calls their name.

This is not a reconstruction of the burning bush. It is a still moment, made to ask whether meaning has its own physics. A miracle is not always about what happens. Sometimes it is about what it means.

About the series:
Illogical was created with limited tools, time, and experience. The images are personal reflections, not polished works. They were made in scattered moments, as a way to hold together two parts of myself, scientific and spiritual. What I share here is not finished. If something in this work speaks to you, I invite you to carry it further, refine it, or respond to it. There is space for others.

Note on pricing and usage
I have set all my margins to symbolic values, for example 1 DKK for prints. This is not a commercial project. The price you see reflects only platform and production costs. The message behind these works is that I'm sharing to inspire, not to merchandise.

Mattia Siragusa is an artist photographer from Varese (Italy), born in 1987. After studying physics at the Statale University of Milan and Pavia (Italy), he moved to Denmark to continue his studies with a doctorate at the Danmarks Tekniske Universitet.

Since 2015, Mattia has been working in the field of radiochemistry, more specifically in the research and production of radiopharmaceuticals used for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.

During her years of scientific training, Mattia expressed her creativity through photography, questioning the links between science and religion. While the Bible has always been a source of inspiration for artists, its charm has often eluded photographers. Starting from this reflection, Mattia wanted to explore digital photography as a means of rediscovering the religious themes that have always influenced our history.

Through her photographs, Mattia Siragusa seeks to capture and express the essence of spiritual matters and beliefs, using digital photography as a tool to reveal mysteries and religious symbols. His work explores the encounter between science and spirituality, inviting the viewer to reflect on the connections between these two fields.
