Lui qui a l’art des contrastes n’a rien à envier à un Lucien Clergue : le ciel de la Camargue est franc, celui de la tauromachie, qu’on l’aime ou non, aussi.

Une chose est certaine, c’est que ces photos lui ressemblent, et si on lui reconnaissait jusque-là de savoir rendre la grâce d’un pas d’un port sur un podium ou vanter la beauté d’une ligne, rapporter l’esthétique défardée d’un jeu de corps, on peut désormais dire que son regard ne tient pas aux défilés mais à la vie qui s’étreint à corps, de ion et d’âme, femmes et hommes confondus.
Ses meilleures photographies sont celles-là, triomphe personnel et élégance de la ligne, ne pas s’y tromper : il est autant au juste là qu’il l’est avec tout corps, dans un corps à corps qu’il éprouve lui, plein d’iration, sans y être né comme Clergue, mais pour en aimer les tensions la parade et les victoires, aussi.
