Verssan, born in 1985, is a French pastel artist who lives and works in . He received extensive artistic training, obtaining a certificate in plastic studies at the Beaux-Arts de Beaune in 2004, followed by a DNAT in spatial design at the Beaux-Arts d'Annecy from 2004 to 2007, and continued his studies at the Beaux-Arts in Marseille in 2008.

Inspired by major figures such as Ernest Pignon-Ernest, Pierre Soulages and Francis Bacon, Verssan explores the human form and sexuality through a distinctive figurative style. His preferred medium is pastel on paper, which he uses to create works imbued with sensuality and eroticism.

Originally from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Verssan settled in the south of where he has pursued his ion for art for more than ten years. Thanks to pastel, he manages to appropriate the human body, playing with curves, voids and solids, shadows and lights. His technique consists of rubbing, blending and blowing the material onto the paper, creating compositions where the shades of color interact with the shade of the , often in warm gray tones.

Verssan's works reveal bodies imbued with softness and delicacy, while manifesting an underlying strength and virility. His subjects are treated with a unique sensitivity, where each drawing reveals a palpable sensuality and sometimes a dose of eroticism. Verssan's art does not just depict the human body, he seeks to capture and express the emotions and nuances of the human condition through his captivating pastels.
